Democratic Republic of the Congo

The state of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire) is the second largest country in Africa. Its capital is Kinshasa. Its population reaches 110 million and it was an official colony of Belgium till 1960. According to international polls, it was the 6th poorest country in the world for the year 2023.

We decided to start our action, with schools (Primary and Secondary) located in some of the country’s provinces and not in the capital Kinshasa, because these areas are even poorer and the living conditions there even more difficult.

Such provinces are Kanga, Kikwit, Goma and Gungu.

We sincerely thank the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Kinshasa, Mr. Theodosios for the warm hospitality during our research in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and his undivided help and support in various ways to our vision.

We also sincerely thank Mrs. Stella Papadopoulou, a volunteer for 12 years in the Mission of the Metropolis of Kinshasa, for her assistance, important help and all her advice from the beginning of our effort, so that we achieve our goal.
